Buddy Class and Bird of Prey--Weird Combination!

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...yes, it's a bird! A hawk, nearly the size of some fourth graders that I know, has perched a nest atop one of our playground trees. The kids and I were like paparazzi, snapping photos of our wildlife friend.

Thank you, Mrs. Martinez's class for sharing a few minutes at the end of the day to partake in some "buddy class" reading. It brings me great satisfaction to see my older children working alongside the younger superstars to create a community feeling at our school. The 4th graders were giddy with excitement about visiting our new friends, and now they can't wait to go back!
